A Connie’s Skin guide
How to plan your morning and evening skincare
A routine plan is a place to write down what you've decided to use and when. Start with the routine you already follow.
This guide is about organizing that routine. It doesn't choose treatments or set a schedule for particular ingredients. For a product's order, frequency, or suitability, follow its instructions and any advice you've been given by a qualified clinician.
Write out one morning and one evening
Use two columns, AM and PM. Put the actual product names under each heading in the order you use them. If you're making the list from memory, compare it with the bottles afterward.
Keep each step short enough to read at a glance. “Moisturizer” may be clear if you own one. If there are three in the cupboard, use the name on the bottle. You can make an inventory of the products you own first if you're unsure what's there.
List what you use, even if the list is short.
Then look at the week
If you follow the same routine every morning, give it one name and reuse it. If your existing evening plan differs across the week, name each version so you can tell them apart. “Monday evening” tells you when; a name tied to the routine may tell you more about what's in it. Choose whichever you can recognize without opening the full list.
A planning sheet can be very plain:
| Day | AM routine | PM routine |
|---|---|---|
| Monday | Your routine name | Your routine name |
| Tuesday | Your routine name | Your routine name |
Continue through the days you want to plan. Check each assignment against the instructions you're following. Copying a routine across the calendar is a convenience, not a reason to change how often you use a product.
Keep the plan and the record separate
The plan says what you intended to do. A checkmark records what you did. If an evening goes differently, leave the record accurate rather than marking everything complete to match the plan.
A short diary note can hold the explanation: away overnight, forgot the travel bag, or followed a different routine. When you review the week, those details help you decide whether the schedule needs changing. A missed checkmark by itself doesn't tell the whole story.
Put it into Plan
In Connie's Skin, open Plan and select a day. Your routines appear under AM routines and PM routines. Tap Assign beside the routine you want for that day.
Tap a routine to view its steps, or edit it from its detail screen. In Today, use the AM and PM tabs to see the routines assigned for the day and check off steps as you finish them.
